Jeremy Jepson - Musical Director

Conductor and Musical Director - Jeremy Jepson

Jeremy Jepson studied at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, studying singing and the organ. He won several prizes and gained valuable experience assisting with the direction of the Academy Chamber Choir, sight-singing and choral classes, and he accompanied and sang in master classes with world-class singers including Benjamin Luxon, James Bowman, Henry Herford and Patricia Rozario. Upon graduating he joined the choir of St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle, and taught at a private school in Slough. He moved on to establish a new choral programme at Northampton Roman Catholic Cathedral, a busy time that saw the rapid development of three distinctive choirs, concerts and recitals and the installation of a new Bishop of Northampton. Postgraduate study at the Royal College of Music followed, where he studied with the countertenors Ashley Stafford and Robin Blaze and many notable early-music specialists, including Stephen Preston and Michael Chance.

As well as working as Musical Director of Stamford Choral, Jeremy also directs Divers Voyces, an early-music ensemble based in Cambridgeshire and the St Peter's Singers, a chamber choir with long-established and close links to Peterborough cathedral. He also enjoys a varied schedule as a solo and choral singer, pianist, organist, teacher and conductor that allows him to cover an incredibly diverse repertoire from several perspectives.
