Becoming a member of Stamford Choral Society is really easy! First of all we recommend visiting a rehearsal to see if it's for you. There are no voice tests, and our music director Jeremy will help identify which is the right section for you if you wish. No particular expertise is required - just some familiarity with how to read music set out in the main four parts (Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Bass). Some private practice away from rehearsals is always encouraged particularly with more challenging works, and there are many online programmes and recordings that make this not only possible but easy. Music for shorter works is usually provided for you and for the main works you will be asked to purchase the music. Subs for the entire year are only £120 (payable in two installments if you prefer) and are usually payable in September each year.
